Fin Design
Capacity can be greatly enhanced by using corrugated and louvered or raised lance fins. Corrugated fins are normally applied to condensers or coils that operate with dirty air. Louvered, or raised lance fins, have higher capacity for increased effect and are usually used for in-room coils with filtered airflow.

Fin Coatings
LORD-PHOB coating is a hydrophobic coated fin with excellent durability under severe corrosive/salty conditions. Its salt spray test endurance is 1,000 hours. Copper fins are also available, but their resistance to corrosion is lower than that of the LORD-PHOB fins and they are three times the weight and cost.

LORD-PHIL coating is a hydrophilic coated fin. It is used for evaporators and chilled water coils. They eliminate the carry over of droplets and can operate with higher air velocity, giving a better performance. Their humidity endurance test at 50°C and 98% RH is 500 hours.

Tubes
Tubes are round, seamless per ASTM B68.
Rifled, or Inner Grooved tubes, are available for evaporators and condensers. The internal extended surface of these tubes is nearly doubled compared to smooth tubes, thereby increasing the in-tube heat transfer factor. This effect is higher when the air-side heat transfer factor is high. These tubes are available for 7 mm and 9.52 mm diameters.

For water and other fluid coils, the in-tube heat transfer factor can be increased by inserting turbospirals into the tubes.

Stainless steel tubes are available for 9.52 mm and 12.7 mm diameters.

Slanted Fin Cut
This is an interesting option when coil height is limited and higher performance is required without an increase of air pressure drop. The diagonal cut fin combines the efficiency of a staggered coil pattern with the lower air pressure drop of an in-line pattern. This option is available for patterns Triple-7, D-8 and D-14.

Circular Coils and Bent Coils
LORDAN gained a great deal of experience in producing circular coils. We make circular coils with inner diameter as small as 230 mm and an unlimited number of rows deep. Ninety degree (90°) bends are made in the smallest bend radius of 100 mm with coils up to three rows deep; 1, 2 or 3 bends in nearly unlimited heights and lengths.

Circular Stainless Steel Tube Coils
Lordan's Development department finished successfully the development stage for production of stainless steel tube coils in circular and bent form. As of this date the product will be available with the following specifications:

Tubes: 3/8", 9.52 mm O.D.

Circular coils
Minimal inside radius 125 mm, 5"
Number of rows deep - unlimited
Coil patterns: Triple-7, 8,9,14

Bent coils
Inside radius: 100-mm, or 125-mm, 4", or 5".
Number of rows deep - Up to 3
Coil patterns: Triple-7, 8,9,14
Number of bends in a coil: Up to 3
